Instagram is
shaking things up
with a new dislike
button for
comments!
Currently in
testing, this
feature lets users
privately signal
dissatisfaction
with comments on
feed posts and
Reels—without
making the count
public. The goal?
To enhance the
quality of
conversations
while keeping
things
drama-free.
|
|
Unlike Reddit’s
downvote system,
Instagram’s
approach won’t
instantly impact
visibility, but it
could influence
comment rankings
in the future. For
content creators,
this might mean
cleaner comment
sections and
better engagement
insights.
|
|
Will this feature
become permanent?
That depends on
user feedback. If
successful,
Instagram might
roll it out
widely, shaping
the way we
interact
online.

Facebook is
making a major
shift in how it
stores Live
videos, and
creators need to
take note.
Starting this
week, live
broadcasts will
only be available
for replay,
download, or
sharing for 30 days
before they’re
automatically
deleted.
Previously, these
videos were stored
indefinitely.
|
|
To help with the
transition, Meta
is introducing
tools that let
users convert
their videos into
Reels or transfer
them to cloud
storage. Creators
will also have a 90-day
window
to download their
content before
it’s permanently
removed. An option
to extend storage
for older videos
by six months is
also
available.
|
|
Meta says this
change aligns with
industry standards
and enhances
privacy, but
experts also see
it as a
cost-cutting move.
Storing massive
amounts of video
data isn’t cheap,
especially as Meta
pours billions
into AI and the
Metaverse.
|
|
For creators,
this means making
more deliberate
choices about
content. While
some may see
benefits in
curating their
video archives,
others might be
frustrated by the
shorter retention
period—especially
when platforms
like YouTube and
Twitch offer
longer storage
options.
|
|
What This Means
for You:
Act Fast
– Download or
transfer your Live
videos before they
disappear.
Get
Strategic
– Repurpose key
moments into Reels
for ongoing
engagement.
Stay
Informed
– Meta’s policies
can impact your
content strategy,
so plan
ahead.

Meta is rolling
out AI-powered
chat features
across Facebook,
Instagram,
Messenger, and
WhatsApp—but
there’s a catch.
If you or someone
in your chat uses @MetaAI
to ask a question,
your messages in
that conversation
could be processed
and potentially
used for AI
training.
|
|
A new pop-up
alert warns users
that while Meta
takes steps to
remove personal
identifiers, it’s
best to avoid
sharing sensitive
details—like
passwords or
financial
information—if you
don’t want them
feeding into
Meta’s AI
systems.
|
|
So, what can you
do? You can’t opt
out, but you can
take
precautions:
✅ Avoid using
@MetaAI
in private chats
if you’re
concerned about
privacy. ✅ Be mindful of
what you
share—once it’s in the
chat, it could be
processed. ✅ Delete
sensitive
messages
if you don’t want
them included in
AI training.
|
|
While Meta wants
to showcase its AI
capabilities, this
update raises
questions about
privacy and data
usage. If you’re
not comfortable
with Meta’s AI
potentially
analyzing your
messages, it might
be best to keep
those
conversations
AI-free.
